Back to Padel: Your September Routine

Make Padel Your Weekly Ritual

Summer was full of tournaments and exciting matches, but September is the perfect time to channel that energy into a consistent routine. The key isn’t playing more—it’s playing regularly and with purpose.

Schedule 2–3 sessions per week: create a regular game group or book sessions with a coach. Repetition is what strengthens your shots.

Play matches with friends on Tuesday and Thursday, and leave Saturday for a technical training session or a more competitive match.

Players like Ale Galán or Paquito Navarro combine matches with targeted training to maintain a high level throughout the season.

Your ally here: a spacious padel bag with everything ready (main racket + backup, extra grips, water bottle, energy snacks).

Train Off the Court Too

Padel isn’t only improved on the court. The difference between plateauing or progressing lies in what you do off the court:

Mobility and warm-up: Spend 5 minutes on shoulder and hip exercises before each match. This helps prevent common padel injuries like tendinitis.

Strong core, stronger shots: A simple routine of planks or abs 2–3 times a week will improve your volleys and smashes.

Light endurance: Running, cycling, or even brisk walking 20–30 minutes gives you the stamina needed for long three-set matches.

Your ally here: accessories that help with the details → overgrips for better hold, racket protectors to extend your racket’s life, or wristbands to prevent soreness after consecutive matches.

Did you know a new overgrip can completely change your feel and control?      Pros often change theirs every match. Our recommendation: replace it every 10–15 hours of play to ensure grip, comfort, and prevent blisters.

Padel & Friends Grand Opening – Ottawa

Ottawa just got its first premium indoor padel facility! On August 23, 2025, Padel & Friends celebrated the Grand Opening of their brand-new three-court club at 500-1101 Polytek Street, Gloucester.

The launch day was completely sold out and packed with activities — from free beginner lessons and exhibition matches, to round robins, gear demos, and even a cold plunge recovery experience.

Founded by Hans Molin and Ottawa Senators legend Daniel Alfredsson, Padel & Friends is more than a sports club — it’s a community hub where players of all levels can connect, learn, and compete year-round.
